Knightsbridge Flash Mob
The TopSecret Team were in action again this week with a Knightsbridge Flash Mob supporting the MDS World Awareness Day 2016 – as part of a worldwide series of events. Sophie from MDS UK Patient Support Group contacted asking for help to co-ordinate an assisted flash mob. MDS had lots of willing volunteers to participate in the performance – they just needed a company with expertise in flash mob planning to bring everything together and, of course, we were delighted to help.
Our choreographer uploaded a video tutorial using Gloria Gaynors’ iconic track “I am what I am”. Participants were quick to learn the routine ahead of a rehearsal at Green Park near the Ritz Hotel in London. Two TopSecret dancers headed the hour long rehearsal which was plenty of time to make any adjustments and proved to be a lot of fun. We then headed down to Harrods in Knightsbridge for the performance at 1pm.
It has to be said that the participants from the MDS Patient Support Group were amazing. Many of them did zumba on a regular basis and you could really tell. The public enjoyed the performance as much as we did. There were some great photos from the day and our fab video guys even made a free video of the day for use on the MDS social media.
Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) are a group of diverse bone marrow disorders in which the bone marrow does not produce enough healthy blood cells. MDS is often referred to as a “bone marrow failure disorder”. Find out more on the MDS website and please share this or the video to raise awareness of this incredibly debilitating condition.
Jay and team – you have been extraordinary! Can’t thank you enough for making us look so good and proficient for our charity flashmob. And making it so much fun too. I am so glad I called you to the rescue. You are super professional, reliable, friendly and so down to earth – understanding our needs and participants – super work!!! Would recommend you to all charities venturing into a flashmob exercise. Love the clip you made for us as well. You really captured the essence of what we wanted to express.
Heaps of thanks from me Sophie, everyone involved and all patients affected by blood cancer MDS Myelodysplastic Syndromes.
